To update your TV manually from USB:
- Download the firmware file you want to install. If the download is a
.zip archive, extract it first and locate the .epk file inside. - Format a USB flash drive as
FAT32 (or exFAT, but not NTFS).
Make sure it has only one partition (there may be hidden partitions you don't see in
file manager). I recommend formating the drive using diskmgmt.msc or gparted, - Create a folder named
LG_DTV in the root of the drive
and copy the .epk file into that folder. Keep only one .epk firmware file there. - Eject the USB drive, turn the TV on, and insert the drive. The TV should detect the
update and prompt you to install it. If it doesn't show up, the update file is probably
not compatible with your TV.
- Confirm that the displayed version is the one you expect, then start the update. Keep
the TV powered during the whole process and do not unplug the USB drive. The TV will
reboot automatically when the update is complete.
- Verify the installed version in
Settings > Support > Software Update. If you want to stay on that version, keep the update domains blocked as described in Blocking updates.
